Beyond the old road lie clear rivers and forest valleys. When the journey allows, I sometimes lead guests into these quieter landscapes, far from the familiar route.
The trail crosses a deeply wooded landscape, opening occasionally toward Mt. Ontake. As a child, I often heard Kiso-bushi, the old folk song of the Kiso Valley. Even now, walking here sometimes brings its melody quietly back to me.
